Asian tropical woods range in color from dark red to white. The wood comes in a variety of densities, which means different species may be more suited to a specific use than the generic Meranti product.

Product Properties

The mills can typically produce products that range in thickness from 2.7mm to 18mm and in sizes 4'x6' up to 4'x10'. Many mills also produce plywood utilizing core veneers, lumber core, MDF and PBC.

The Melapi products are usually produced using solid tropical hardwood species for both the core and the face veneers. The faces are generally produced to a thickness from 0.55mm to 0.88mm, depending on desired finished panel thickness.
